Luz Stella Artajo Medina is a Food Engineer from the University of Caldas (Manizales, Colombia) and holds a Ph.D. with an emphasis on Food Technology from the University of Lleida (Lleida, Spain). She also holds a Master’s degree in Coffee Science and Economics from the University of Trieste (Trieste, Italy).

She focused her professional career on the olive oil industry for several years. Later, she joined the coffee industry, serving as a Cup of Excellence (COE) auditor in Colombia in various competitions. Since 2012, she has worked for the Coffee Quality Institute (CQI), first as Regional Coordinator for Colombia and South America, and currently as a consultant for several programs around the world, given her expertise in coffee cupping (Q Instructor since 2014, certified by CQI and currently by SCA) and coffee processing (Q Processing Instructor certified by CQI).

She is also an Authorized Trainer by the Specialty Coffee Association (SCA). In recent years, she has dedicated herself to training cuppers internationally and working with small producers, while also serving as a judge in Roasting and Brewing Championships in different countries and participating in other projects — always striving for the production and recognition of high-quality coffees.
